Artur is my personal trainer. I started 4 months ago.
Five years ago I did long distance walking 20-25km/day. But had heart problems and had a succesfull heart ablation two years ago. Then diagnosed with multiple myeloma (a blood cancer) but 48 weeks of chemo-therapy cured me. I was unlucky and it was followed by covid and sever chest infection and loss of 24lb. of body weight I.e. fat and muscles. This was eight months ago. From a fit long distance walker five years ago I was reduced to completely unfit. No muscle strength, unsteady walk…I needed a walking stick… and little lung capacity. Fatigued. Something had to be done. My super fit son did some research and found Artur for me and my first lesson was four months ago.
Artur’s approach carefully judge your need before each session and tailor it to your ability. The exercises are not repetitive but varied and adjusted to push me slightly more every time. He tells me the purpose of each moment and make sure I do them correctly.
I have discovered muscles I did not know I had.
Artur is not just a very good trainer, instructor and motivator but also a truly pleasant and cultured person so our discussions range from cooking and nutrition to economics. I ask myself: Is he… without me knowing it…also working on my mental health and wellbeing?
After four months and three lessons per week I am now feeling noticeable better after each lesson. My speed, walking distance and balance have improved. When I started, it took me fifteen minutes to walk to the Tooting track. Now I do it in ten minutes, steady and with better posture…and no stick.
It is very encouraging. All thanks to Artur.
